Cognizant Technology Services(CTS) Interview Experience - Visakhapatnam Dec 19 2015

Hai friends this is Y.BaliReddy from Aditya institute of technology and management, Tekkali, Srikakulam district, Andhra pradesh.

Recently I attended CTS campus drive through JKC in GVPE college vizag.

First let me thanks to INDIABIX I have idea about selection but I got brief idea about selection process through many experiences they shared thanks to all for their great interview experiences of CTS. The selection process of CTS went on like this,

Total of nearly 4000 attended to the drive from different colleges. The selection process went on like this.

There are total of four rounds,

1. GD/JAM (just a min).
2. Written test.
3. Technical round.
4. HR.

1. GD/JAM:

They divided total into several groups each of nearly 30 members, Fortunately my group consists of 32 members. We went into the room, we settled and the HR came we all wished him he asked us to go with gd/jam, most of them told gd, so he conducted jam, the topic told was MOBILE IMPACT ON OUR LIFE, HE told the instructions all, and started jam, after completion of that he asked us to leave, one of the co-ordinator bought some resumes out and he called 4 members, I was one among the 4 selected, he took us to written testing computer lab, he asked us fill some forms,

This round is most prominent one, Please be confident and good body language and deliver some new points what others not said, don't be over talk though you have good communication skills it may lead to reject, THis ALL about first round,


This was conducted by MERIT TRACK it consists of,

Reasoning (30) and general english (20) total of 50 bits.

In reasoning part most of them are,

Number series.
Data sufficiency.
Visual reasoning.
Data interpretation etc,
In english 10 are from reading comprehension (very easy part).
Jumbling sentences (4-6).
Subject verb agreement (2-3).
Sentence correction (3-4).

Very easy to clear, basic knowledge ok,

Among all 500 were shortlisted in written,

I was one among the 500 members.

Next day was technical&hr interview,


My technical round was scheduled at afternoon 1:30 around,

The interview went on like this.

Int: Interviewer, Me: Me.

Me: May I come in sir.

Int: Ya come in,
Me: I wished him.

Int: He wished me and asked me to sit.
Me: I said thank you.

Int: First default question is about myself.
Me: I told it in very impressively.

Int: Why you choose ECE if you have interest in IT.
Me: I managed it but he agreed to my answer,

Int: He asked what kind of subjects you have (stupid question).
Me: I told we deals with electronics as well communication subjects (we did 8 semesters total 48 subjects how can I say this).

Int: Then he asked my favourite subject,
Me: War started, I told RADAR systems (i thought it is easy to manage but I'm not good in this subject).

Int: He asked What is radar and how it works and applications in brief.
Me: I told it and covered all about radar in very short way (all are beating the box).

Int: He entered into MP&MC. HE asked the difference b/w them.
Me: Told.

Int: Diff b/w 8086 and 8085.
Me: Told.

Int: He asked me some basic questions from control systems.
Me: Told.

Int: About project (mentioned in resume).
Me: Told (always explain using block diagram can easy to impress).

Int: Then he entered in to C.
Me: I told I'm good at basics of C.

Int: He asked the diff b/w recursion and Iteration.
Me: Luckily I have some knowledge about it and told, impressed.

Int: He asked me to write program for fibonacci series.,
Me: Told the logic (don't write the whole program because it take some time so better if we with logic rather than program easy way impress,).

And whole the max interview went on my core subjects be good with at least one subject so you can manage and have some basic knowledge about C, prepare some basic programs at least,

Most important is you should have good knowledge what you written in your resume, max questions from resume. Only, and highlight your achievements,

Be confident and maintain eye contact though he not listen your words, but they will check your performance, don't be over talk, most important,

Int: He asked me, do you have any questions,

Me: I said nothing,

Int: He said you are ok. And you can leave,

After some time one of the co-ordinator bought some resumes out we were 20 nearly waiting outside for results, first he called 8 members and he took them outside, I thought I'm out, but still have confidence, one other co-ordinator came with 6 resumes and I'm the on among 6, to took us to down floor, but he didn't mentioned weather we selected or not finally with sad face he told Sorry friends you did well in technical round but I can't help you please take your resumes and go for HR, !

We were shocked and excited, we came to know that first 8 were rejected list,


Very simple the questions I faced are,

1. About myself.

2. Will you relocate?
Told yes sir.

3. Greatest achievement in life.

4. About family.

5. About CTS.

6. Where you can see after 10 years.

He given me some forms and asked me to read the instructions and to sign.

Without reading I signed on the form (one mistake I did) so please read it once before you sign on the form.

Finally He asked me to leave,

I said him have a nice day, and I left,

After two days results were given that 204 were selected.,

So I was in the list of selected candidates,

V. V. Happy to become part of CTS,

Good luck friends don't neglect the hr round even there will be elimination in hr do well only the key is to be confident, prepare in advance to some frequently asked questions, so you can do much better, Very easy selection process,
